Position Summary
We are seeking an outstanding professional for the position of Biomedical Research Scientist. This position will report to the Director of Biomedical Research, and work in close collaboration with others in Medical & Scientific Affairs, Marketing, Statistics and Engineering. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to leverage their tenacity, professional skills and capabilities and reap the rewards associated with Auxogyn’s commercial success.
This position performs studies at the intersection of developmental cell biology, embryology, microscopy, image analysis and reproductive medicine. The scope of work will involve designing and conducting research projects from conception to completion, including research planning, data requisition, analysis, interpretation, literature review and scientific communications. The work will be conducted under the direction of the biomedical research group and through close collaboration with the statistical and engineering teams. In addition to his or her major duties and responsibilities, the candidate will participate in various stages of fundamental human embryology research, clinical trial execution, product development and product marketing in a fast-paced, cutting-edge startup environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop research concepts and conduct research projects using embryo, image and clinical data.
- Participate with Clinical Operations and MS Affairs in data acquisition, database maintenance, analysis and interpretation.
- Lead or assist in developing manuscripts for peer reviewed publication and grant applications.
- Lead or assist in literature review and analysis of the scientific field and/or competition.
- Lead or assist in presenting research results at conferences and to professional groups. Gather competitive intelligence on competitors at key medical and scientific conferences.
- Maintain superior knowledge of current scientific developments related to the company’s products and related field of interest, and communicate knowledge to others in the organization.
- Participate in the ongoing evaluation of potential markets, new products, and new business opportunities.
- Contribute to the intellectual property position and portfolio of the company.

Education and Job Experience
- Ph.D. in biology, cell biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, imaging or related field.
- At least 5 years of previous experience working in a related research lab or company.
- Experience with complex databases, knowledge of basic statistical methods, and experience programming.
- Demonstrated success in experimental design and execution and project management.
- Demonstrated success solving problems in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication of scientific topics to broad audiences.
- Experience developing, editing and executing publications and presentations.
- Interest in clinical medicine, embryology, reproductive health, biology, microscopy and imaging.
