Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to work with our team of researchers and engineers at the intersection of cell biology, image analysis and translational medicine. The candidate will participate in extracting image features and applying signal processing toolbox to automatically measure embryo developmental timings and embryo morphology. In addition, the candidate will organize data from multiple sources and be able to perform data analysis programmatically. The candidate will also participate in reporting and publishing of scientific results from research projects and collaborations. Recent graduates who want to gain research experience in an industry setting before pursuing higher degree in graduate school are welcome to apply.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop automated tools to measure embryo development from image sequences and assess performance.
- Develop methods to efficiently collect ground truth measurements for automation.
- Collect ground truth measurements necessary for automation development.
- Assist in evaluating clinical relevance of automated measurements.
- Participates in the design and conduct of clinical and scientific research studies.
Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Education and/or Job Experience
- S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering or related areas.
- Strong background in signal processing, image analysis and statistics using Matlab.
- 1 - 2 years of practical experience performing data analysis in medical or biological related field.
- Familiarity and strong interest in biology, embryo development, genetics, and have experience extracting quantitative metrics from biological data.
- Documented success in experimental design and execution, data collection, data analysis and interpretation
- Demonstrated excellence in communication of scientific topics, including strong writing and comprehension skills.
